But the ever increasing competition in the smartphone market has made the company owners narrow down their competition to specifications of the individual phones.

Hereby, resulting the development of the smartphone screens which make it more visible and clearer to watch TV shows or movies on your handset.

The uptrend has been starting from The HTC One X which had a 720p HD screen; the Galaxy S4 and HTC One both stepped up to 1080p Full HD displays, and we're now seeing 2K displays pop up on the likes of the LG G3 and this trend would suggest that 4K displays will be commonplace within the next two or so generations of flagship phone.

What is 4K ?

  • 4K is an upcoming technology promising the users for a crystal clear and crisp image quality which enhances every little detail of the image.
  • The term '4K' is reffered to as the resolution of the electronic display. A 'display' could be the screen of your TV, iPad , Tab , Laptop or any other smartphone for the record and 'resolution' reffers to as the pixels they are displaying.
  • In the terms of tech products available, you can buy TV's, 4K refers to 3840 pixels along the horizontal line and 2160 pixels vertically.

Samsung and LG, two of the powerhouses of hi-def smartphones, have hinted in the past that 4K phone screens are a possibility, but have shied away from expressly stating they're in the works.

Most likely, then, 4K phones will be a reality in the next few years - but whether or not they'll be a hit lies with the phone-buying public.
